Message to the Poet

Who Tried To Killed Amazing BF?
A Rhyme for the Poet

I was once lucky enough to go in the bloggosphere by the name of Amazing BF. Don't laugh, readers: it made my sky electric blue, and sent sparrows chirping in my heart. Impervious to the world, I reached for the stars better than Joan Rivers on Oscar Night.
*
But now, as I write these lines, the One in my life, and author of my nickname, is on the road. For a very long time may be.
*
Mine is a simple story, that should never have ended up rolled into this cyber-bottle and thrown in the ocean of the Net.
Someone may have killed Amazing BF.
And I may have just lost the One in my life.
*
Just as yesterday, his head lay on my lap.
The house was filled with laughter.
Today, I have lost the key to his smile and to his world.
He distilled bliss in my life, but instead of drinking again and again, drunk and happy, I pouted.
*
Who tried to kill Amazing BF?
Pride, Jealousy and Lack of Humour were summoned;
Individually innocent - Collectively guilty.
Sent to probation and rehab.
*
As the Poet is driving through Alligator Alley, I’d give an arm to a croc and a leg to a snake to have him put his cell phone on the passenger seat, so as not to miss my call.
*
I should have learned to play the mandoline, I should have swayed from tree to tree on a liana to make him laugh. I should have reinvented the world for him.
* *
*

Now baby, you must be on the Sky Bridge. Be safe.
In a week, a month, in five years,
I’ll be around if you come back.
Ca va. There is plenty of room for you.

From Amazing BF. Alive and kicking, unchanged.
